The Tesla Cybertruck. Like it or hate it, there’s no denying the polarizing effect caused by the Bladerunner-esq no-curves EV truck. We’ve already seen this futuristic pickup truck reimagined in almost every automobile related scenario, after Tesla kicked off the trend with it’s own camper option that includes a tent and outside kitchen to to ensure you main one with nature all while being futuristic and all. We now have yes another spectacular and very realistic rendering from motorhome on YouTube that imagines a custom-made trailer. It is almost reminiscent of the iconic Airstream trailed but with the Bladerunner-esq aesthetic applied to it. I for one am not a camper in any sense of the word. However it this came to reality, I could see myself being one with nature.
We do not have a rendering of the fictional interior so we cannot fully imaging what the trailer life will look and fee like ‘Cybertruck-style’ because we only have an exterior rendering to go with. However it is very impressive the amount of detail and attention that was paid by the designer to the exterior rendering. From the matching wheels and wheel covers to the iconic line lights. It even carries on with the uniquely shaped windows and exterior lines, devoid of anything resembling a curve. Just like the Cybertruck completely flipped pickup design on it’s head, if and hopefully when this trailer goes into production, it too will also do the same for current RV design which has stubbornly remained virtually unchanged for decades.
Pulling this trailer no matter the weight (as long as it’s under 14,000 lbs) will be cakewalk for the Cybertruck which boasts a maximum of 14,000 pounds pulling capability. Granted the range will be somewhat reduced when pulling the trailer, the Cybertruck’s estimated 500+ mile range allows enough room to make it to the next supercharger. Also since most modern RV trailers already come equipped with solar power generation capacity, there is certainly no doubt that this trailers’ proposed roof can more than accommodate enough solar panels to fulfill your trailer-life needs while also being able to provide more power to the Cybertruck as a possible range extender – clever. At a proposed cost of $100,000, this trailer will definitely be affordable to the often deep pocketed Tesla owner. But for the rest of us, we can dream for this truly sustainable camping experience in hopes that we get to see it one day.

- lukewrightakVery realistic? The max turn radius isn’t even close to legal.1w4 likesReply
- Hide replies
- courtneymowattmitchell@lukewrightak Think again. There are plenty of fifth-wheel setups like this that are even longer. The fifth-wheel hitch changes the turning radius dynamics dramatically, that’s partially why they exist. They also carry weight quite differently than a rear hitch. Better, in many respects. Whether the #cybrtrk can be mounted with a fifth-wheel depends on Tesla, but I imagine Tesla will work it out; the utility of a fifth-wheel isn’t just for camping, it’s also used in other work-related trailer applications.1wReply
- lukewrightak@courtneymowattmitchell look at the clearance between the vehicle and trailer and tell me there won’t be problems.1w2 likesReply
- courtneymowattmitchell@lukewrightak You are absolutely correct! However, as this is only a rendering, I think both of us can trust that clearance will be adequate if and when the real trailers are constructed, eh? (My wife and I are dreaming of hauling a fifth-wheel set-up in our maxed-out #cybrtrk after we sell our home in Palo Alto, California and hit the road again! This rendering, as you can imagine, pleased us no end‼️ Cheers!1wReply
- lukewrightak@courtneymowattmitchell livin the dream! I have to ask, if you don’t mind explaining to an outsider, what the appeal of Musk or Tesla is?1w1 likeReply
- courtneymowattmitchell@lukewrightak We’ve owned a Tesla Model X for over three years and, although I’ve travelled literally millions of miles in my careers as an international driver/guide driving/riding vehicles from as small as Volkswagen buses to full size Prevost buses, as well as my personal vehicles in my 50 years with private and commercial licenses, nothing comes close to the joy of driving our Tesla. It’s such a different animal. (We’ve named ours “Max -the Beast!”) I don’t know where you stand on the issue of global warming, and I really don’t want to discuss it with you, but I’m convinced the science is solid, and consequently driving a Tesla in California where our electricity comes…1w1 likeReply
- courtneymowattmitchell@lukewrightak …primarily from wind and hydro, we are ecstatic to finally be part of the solution, not the problem. Musk? All the patents he’s filed for the breakthrough tech he’s caused to happen by sheer force of his vision, are all open patents, available for any and all automotive, space, and other fields to use without royalties (the way I understand it) and that just freakin’ unheard of. Anyway, I’m a night owl at the moment and I’m fading fast. Catch you later?🙏🏻1w1 likeReply
