Driving With The Falcon Wing Doors Open.
So today I got to try something very cool. It’s something that I have been wondering about and wanting to try out for a long time now. Actually from the very first time I saw a demo of the Tesla Model X Falcon Wing Doors, it was inevitable that I would wonder whether one could drive the Model X with the Falcon wing doors open. If that was possible, then my next question was how far and how fast one can drive the Tesla Model X with the Falcon Wing Doors fully extended. As an avid aviation geek, Driving the model X with its falcon wing doors extended is the closest thing I could get to piloting (or taxiing) a plane down the runway. So it was only a matter of time before I would jump at the opportunity to test it out once I took delivery of my very own Tesla Model X.
Also it would be derelict of my duty as a music industry veteran if I did not try this out and see if it can actually work. I owe it to Rappers and Pop start out there to enlighten them on the floss-worth aspects of the Tesla Model X. If this experiment works, it just might have huge ramifications not just for music videos visuals moving forward but also for the artist’s swagger and drip. As MTV has shown us over the years, musicians (especially Rappers) love to floss (show off) their cars every chance the get and this will be no exception. Furthermore, musicians will definitely appreciate that the Tesla Model X comes with it’s own soundtrack and choreographed dance number called Christmas Mode. Check out the video below.
So if anything, this experiment and resulting video should hopefully make the Model X a more appealing luxury status symbol to Rappers, turning it into a Rapper magnet of sorts, which I am surprised it isn’t already knowing how dope the Tesla Model X is. Perhaps this is the one area that Tesla isn’t that disruptive in or awesome at i.e. messaging and getting out its brand to the African-American “urban” community. As a person of color and a two time Tesla owner, I can say that I know of no other person of color in my social circles that owns a Tesla. Not because they cannot afford it as some in my social circle already own Lambos, Ranges and Rarris i.e. Lamborghini’s, Range Rovers and Ferrari’s — see the photo below of one such example. That’s one of my close fiend’s Lambo Urus on the right. Fun fact — he could have just about purchased 2 Tesla Model X P100D’s for what he paid for his Urus. Hey Tesla, perhaps I might be of some service in this area on getting your cars some real street cred in the urban community. Also the BET Awards weekend is coming up…might be a perfect opportunity to get lit with Tesla.

Now back to the experiment at hand. Any credible scientists knows to expect unintended consequences from the results of their experiments. However, my hope is that once word of this experiment get out to the streets, it will create the intended consequence of socializing Tesla and the Model X with the HipHop community so that we start seeing Model Xs in music videos and being purchased by Rappers to add to their extensive collections of exotic cars. Perhaps I just might beat them to the punch and make a song or my own for the very purpose of shooting a music video just so that I can feature my Model X driving with the Falcon Wing Doors fully extended. Stay tuned!!
Before I conducted this experiment, I had to first set some ground rules to make sure that the results were in partial and authentic. I also had to implement some safety precautions to make sure that I don’t end up as a meme because I damaged my model X or worse caused damage to someone else’s property or put others at risk.
So here are the ground rules:
1. Find an area with a clear on obstructed driving path. Somewhere like an empty parking lot would be perfect for this experiment. Preferably a parking lot with at least 100 feet of unobstructed driving in all directions.
2. Make sure you are alone in the vehicle as to not put anyone else in potential harms way if something goes awry.
3. Start slow, initially driving in a straight line until you feel comfortable and assured that you have proved in your thesis at slow speed‘s. Then you can gradually increase your speed to a speed where you feel comfortable in handling the vehicle with the falcon wing doors extended.
4. Take turns and other the driving maneuvers like speeding up and slowing down to further test the thesis and rule out the possibility of the feature only working in certain optimal conditions or what we in the scientific community would call a ‘False Positive’.
5. Most important rule of all, make sure you capture it all on video otherwise it never really happened. And while you’re at it, try to include an awesome background for a more enjoyable viewing.
Here are the results from my Tesla Model X Falcon Wing Doors Opened While Driving Experiment.
IT FREAKING WORKS!!
