I have been a long time Tesla owner and currently on my second Tesla. So you can consider me a Tesla veteran. I started with the Model S 5 years ago and I’m now 2 years into my Model X. Although I deeply love and appreciate both vehicles, my all time favorite Tesla models are not yet available for purchase. They are the Roadster and more recently, the Cybertruck. Both cars have completely rewired my understanding of what to expect for a vehicle, let alone an electric vehicle and I am want them badly.
So imagine my bewilderment and adulation when I came across a Cybertruck roadster rendering by an artist who I’m yet to identify and thank for this awesome design. If you closed your eyes and imagined what the Cybertruck would look like as a Roadster and you will come up with something close to or identical to this rendering. Whoever the designer is, I have to commend him especially for his attention to detail, including the piece de resistance – the two broken windows. I even did a reverse image search on google to see if anything but a Cybertruck came up and I was gladly disappointed. Even Google agrees with the uncanny resemblance.

Apples To Apples
So you know I had to fire up my Photoshop and crank out a comparison image showing a side-by side apples to apples comparison of the Cybertruck and what I’m calling the Cyberster. I a future that I’d like to become a reality, I envision the Cyberster being built on top the Rpoadster chassis and thus inheriting all it’s performance specs. However if the Cyberster adopts the iconic lights and indestructible body from the Cybertruck, then it might vary a bit from the actual Roadster pricing. When you think about it, having a lighter body based on the material used on the Cybertruck, you can imagine the total weight of the Cyberster being considerably lighter than the Roadster. With that in mind, I wouldn’t be far off the mark if I predicted the Cyberster will actually be faster than the Roadster and pack more range due to it’s lighter overall weight. So without further ado, here’s my apples to apples (or rather apples to oranges) comparison between the Cybertruck and the fictional and amazing Cyberster.
Take My Money
The Tesla Roadster reservations have been lackluster compared to any reservations before or after it including the Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck. That’s why you would be hard pressed to see any Roadster or pre-order reservation numbers released by Tesla motors as they have done in the past for the Model 3 and Roadster. However I think if Tesla can implement the revolutionary cost saving economics built into the Cybetruck on the Cyberster, it becomes feasible to have a Cyberster at a lower price point than the $200,000 Roadster. How much lower will depend on how many cost saving features are carried over from the Cybertruck. Depending on those cost saving features, I can imagine the Cyberster coming in at a price point between $130,000 – $180,000, putting it within striking distance of the top of the line Tesla Model X P100D fully loaded, which has a price point of $128,500. At that price point, Elon Musk can take my money.
